Haakon Huynh
Columbia University
I’m a Vietnamese-Norwegian researcher and strategist working at the intersection of AI, diaspora politics, and global governance. I recently completed an M.A. at Columbia University, with research spanning AI policy in the U.S., Europe, India, and Vietnam, as well as technical machine learning work on educational inequality. Professionally, I’ve advised on tech policy and immigrant integration in both Norway and the U.S., and held diplomatic roles with the Norwegian Embassy in India and the United Nations in Geneva. I’m also a classically trained violinist and conductor, using music as a tool for cultural diplomacy across Europe and South Asia. A passionate language learner, I speak Vietnamese, Norwegian, English, German, and French.
