Guilhem Cassagnes-Maxi (he/him/his) is a French historian and scholar at ENS (École Normale Supérieure) Lyon specializing in the dynamic interplay between music and politics in contemporary Indonesia. Following five years immersed in Indonesia's diverse music scenes, Guilhem moved to New York, where he now teaches History, Geopolitics, and Political Science at the French American School of New York. A passionate advocate for alternative music, he has contributed to the scene through podcasts, radio shows (@indestructure), and concert organization. His work combines academic research with music experiences, offering a historical perspective on how music, culture and politics intersect.
