Columbia University

I’m a Malaysian professional interpreter with an MS in Information & Knowledge Strategy from Columbia University, focusing on business development and data-driven decision-making. I worked at Columbia School of Professional Studies (SPS) Career Design Lab, as a Marketing Strategist, strengthening outreach to students and industry partners. I also did consulting work for L’Oréal USA Luxe Division for my capstone and designed an AI readiness checklist and BI guidelines for digital campaign optimization. Before moving to NYC, I was a Project Operations and Marketing Executive at a localization agency, providing language services to clients and organizations internationally, including the U.S. Embassy. During my BA in Translation at Universiti Sains Malaysia, I represented my home country and the institution’s performing arts and cultural group at the Malaysia–Thailand Growth Triangle Varsity Carnival 2019. I also led community service projects for underprivileged youth and individuals with special needs in Penang. In addition, I published research papers with the Malaysian Translators Association, including a study on the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on translation project management, which I presented at the 18th International Translation Conference.
