PhiYen Nguyen is a public health professional and policy analyst at the Veterans Health Administration, where she focuses on evidence-based policies to improve access to care for Veterans. With a Master’s in Public Policy and a background spanning clinical care, teaching, advocacy, and mixed-methods research, her work is anchored in health equity and the use of data to inform policy.

As a Vietnamese American, PhiYen is deeply committed to addressing healthcare disparities facing immigrant and refugee communities, with a particular focus on Southeast Asian populations in the United States. Her research interests center on immigrant health, epistemic injustice, and the ways policies can amplify or silence marginalized voices. She seeks to bridge research and community priorities, advancing sustainable solutions that reduce inequities and ensure underserved communities are represented in health policy.
