Andi Alfian

Andi Alfian is a researcher and the founder of Sekolah Anak Muda (@sekolahanakmuda), an Eastern Indonesia-based nonprofit that hosts public discussions on youth, indigenous, and environmental issues. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Religious Studies from Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Alauddin Makassar and a master’s degree in Religious Studies from Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Yogyakarta. Through the Fulbright Doctoral Degree Scholarship, he is pursuing a PhD in Religion at Syracuse University in New York. His primary research interests include indigenous religious traditions, ritual-based environmental ethics, more-than-human philosophies, and the intersections of religion, indigeneity, and decolonial theory.
