The Training of Language Teachers specializing in the Languages of Myanmar is jointly organized by Cornell University’s Southeast Asia Program (SEAP), University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill’s Carolina Asia Center, the Saint Paul Public Schools’ Karen Language Program, and the Inya Institute.
With contributions from leading language specialists and teachers, the Training of Language Teachers will feature presentations addressing the following themes:
Language teaching resources
Language teaching pathways
Linguistics and its significance for the development of teaching materials
Practical guidance on teaching materials development.
It will be held entirely online on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, June 13, 14, and 15, 2025, at the following times:

6:30-9:00 pm (Myanmar Time)

The training workshop is open to language teachers who are based in the U.S. and the Asia-Pacific region and offer classes on the languages of Myanmar.
It is also open, more generally, to individuals interested in the teaching of the languages of Myanmar and committed to expanding their use within their communities.
