Organizer: Regional Economic Studies Program, ISEAS - Yusof Ishak Institute
Type/Location: Virtual
Description:
The recent rising geopolitical tensions pose immense challenges to the economic integration that has been driven by production networking across countries by multinational enterprises (MNEs). The impact of these tensions has been complicated in a strategic sector such as the semiconductor industry. Products from this industry play a pivotal role in business core competencies and are at the center of interest of governments worldwide. This talk aims to examine foreign direct investment (FDI) dynamics in the semiconductor supply chains in response to geopolitical tensions.
