Join the Asian American Resource Center and the Center for Southeast Asian Studies at Northern Illinois University (NIU) for a talk by Kanjana Thepboriruk, Associate Professor at NIU’s Department of World Languages and Cultures, who will discuss her work conducting oral history interviews with Thai Americans.

About the Speaker:

Kanjana Thepboriruk is an Associate Professor of Thai Language in the Department of World Languages and Cultures and an Associate of the Center for Southeast Asian Studies at Northern Illinois University. Kanjana's research explores the notion of "Thainess" and how it manifests in Thai communities. Investigative disciplines and methodologies include linguistics (phonetics, sociolinguistics) and history.
