Description:
This roundtable discusses youth’s perceptions and lived experiences of health and healthcare in Southeast Asia. What health issues do youths face today, and how do they define being “healthy”? How are insecurities around health being produced and negotiated? Comparing youths from a number of Southeast Asian societies, the discussions will also examine the perspectives and interventions, at the international, regional, state and local levels, that have proven effective, as well as their limits. Bringing together scholars, practitioners, and youth advocates, the roundtable aims to share insights and debate innovative approaches to inform more responsive policymaking and foster societies that can better meet the needs and aspirations of Southeast Asia’s next generation.
