Join Asian CineVision (ACV) for the highly anticipated 48th Asian American International Film Festival (AAIFF) in New York City and virtually from July 31st to August 10th. This year’s festival features a captivating array of films that delve into themes of love, relationships, grief, and complex emotions.
A few highlights from the festival program include:
OPENING NIGHT (Jul 31) - Get excited for the NYC premier of Amy Wang’s “SLANTED” starring Shirley Chen (from “DIDI”) as a Chinese-American teenager who undergoes an experimental ethnic modification surgery.
REFRAME: Filmmaker Community Day (Aug 2) - Don’t miss out on an exclusive day of panels with topics spanning media archives, mental health in the creative field, and documentary film distribution.
CENTERPIECE (Aug 3) - Join in on a thrilling screening of “TRANSPLANT” by director and AAIFF alum, Jason Park. Watch Eric Nam as a motivated surgical resident who pushes himself to extreme lengths.
CLOSING NIGHT (Aug 10) - Celebrate our final event featuring “MOLOKA’I BOUND” directed by Alika Tengan, a film centering around a wayward Hawaiian man on parole who is determined to reconnect with his family.
In addition to a stellar lineup of films, the festival will feature Q&As, receptions, and VIP events, providing unique opportunities to connect with industry professionals and fellow film enthusiasts.
