Join the Center for Southeast Asian Studies at UCLA and the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts - University of the Arts Singapore for a talk by Zechariah Goh, one of Singapore’s most distinguished composers who has made significant contributions to choral music worldwide. Goh will discuss the composition of his choral works over the last 30 years as well as their relationship to Singaporean cultural heritage, language, and traditions.

About the Speaker:

Zechariah Goh is a Singaporean composer. His composition output includes Choral, Wind Ensemble, Orchestral, and chamber compositions. His works had been performed by the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, Singapore National Youth Symphony Orchestra, The Taipei Philharmonic Chamber Choir, The Philharmonic Chamber Choir (Singapore) and etc. The talk will center around Goh's commissioned choral works since 1993. He will discuss the joy of composing for the choir to include Singaporean cultural heritage, language, and traditions.
