The Southeast Asia Research Group’s (SEAREG) twelfth conference will take place August 12-14, 2021, hosted by the University of Arizona.
Five 2021 SEAREG Fellows will present their work:
- Jangai Jap - "Can Encounters with the State Improve Minority-State Relations? Evidence from Myanmar" 
- Nicholas Kuipers - "Failing the Test' – Indonesian Civil Service Examinations" 
- Nina McMurry - "From Recognition to Integration: Indigenous Autonomy, State Authority, and National Identity in the Philippines" 
- Minh Trinh - "Statistical Misreporting from Below, as Seen from (Very High) Above" 
- Chun-Ying Wu - "Political Regimes and Minority Language Recognition: Evidence from Southeast Asia" 
For the first time in SEAREG history, they are offering this event in a hybrid in-person/online format, and all sessions will be open to registered meeting participants.
