Call for Applicants: ISEAS Visiting Fellowship (Social Media in Southeast Asia)

The Media Technology and Society (MTS) Programme at the ISEAS-Yusof Ishak Institute is pleased to invite applications for Visiting Fellowships to study the impact of social media on politics and everyday life in Southeast Asia. The fellowships seek to understand the evolving information landscape in contemporary Southeast Asia, and study the different ways the digital revolution is shaping diverse forms of political participation, mobilize collective actions and behaviors, and impact political systems and socio-economic life. Past and current fellowship topics include disinformation and fake news, digital youth activism, political polarization, and censorship and circumvention in Southeast Asia. The research should be data-driven, empirically based, and target both the policy community and wider public. Preference will be given to comparative projects with Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and/or Vietnam as one of the countries for comparison.

Applications are due by December 18, 2020. Click here for more information.
